THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	LOVERS LANE (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls.
b)	FULL GO (D De Gouveia), DUKE OF FIRE (*P Mxoli) and BLACK LIGHTNING (J R Syster) were slow losing one length.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	CASH SLIP (J P van der Merwe) raced green.
b)	BLACK LIGHTNING (J R Syster) hung in badly throughout, proving difficult to assist. Taking into account this gelding's poor behaviour on debut as well, Trainer F P Habib was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve BLACK LIGHTNING'S racing manners. 
c)	In the concluding stages, PRAGMATIST (K Matsunyane) was brushed out by CAPTAIN FREEDOM (R Munger), which shifted out sharply away from the crop and was immediately corrected. 	
d)	BOISTEROUS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
