EN ROUTE TO THE START, PERINI PALACE (A FORTUNE) LIFTED ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STROKE OF MERCY (*G Samo-Burthia) was slow losing two lengths. b) BREATH OF MAGIC (C Habib) was slow losing five lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Habib reported that BREATH OF MAGIC did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BREATH OF MAGIC, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 26 March 2025 to 2 April 2025. BREATH OF MAGIC may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. c) THUNDERBIRD (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D N Stenger advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
