Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUEEN JACKSON (M Yeni) was difficult and stubborn to load. This filly reversed out the stalls which resulted in the saddle slipping backwards. Thereafter, QUEEN JACKSON was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was subsequently withdrawn. b) AMERICAN STYLE (*R Venniker) was stubborn to load. Trainer A Wright was advised to re-school this filly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) AMERICAN STYLE (*R Venniker) was hanging out from the 350m, proving difficult to assist, and shifted out. As a result, WHISPERING GREEN (A Mgudlwa) was inconvenienced on two occasions approaching the 100m. b) Jockey C Habib reported that EDVIGE took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to QUEEN JACKSON (M Yeni), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 04.08.22 the 10.08.22. QUEEN JACKSON may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F Robinson was advised. (SL) d) Apprentice G Pieterse signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse GREEN SLEEVES more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Apprentice G Pieterse struck the horse GREEN SLEEVES, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of 1000 was imposed. e) GREEN SLEEVES (*G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G Puller acting on behalf of Trainer L Karriem advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) EDVIGE : Not striding out right hind. SCRATCHINGS : a) QUEEN JACKSON : Injured in the starting stalls. Withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 13h07 and the betting was 9/2. Rule 53.5 applies. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None
