Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUEEN BRITANNA (+S Mkhumbuzi) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DAME COLLEEN (+S Mosia) proved difficult to settle in the early stages, and thereafter Work Rider S Mosia reported that DAME COLLEEN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) CELTIC BABE (+T Lukhele) was encouraged forward in order to overcome a wide draw and as a consequence, raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) Approaching the 1200m, SASSY (+V Sithetho), which rolled out, was steadied off the heels of CELTIC BABE (+T Lukhele). d) Shortly before the finish, MISS TANGO (+T Matsoele) had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of ROSSLYNE (+W van Staden), which rolled outwards. e) The saddle on ROSSLYNE (+W van Staden) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by an Official. f) Work Rider T Matsoele was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 in that he used his crop in a manner which was in contravention of the conditions of the Race, by striking MISS TANGO on two occasions with his crop, when his crop hand was off the reins. Work Rider T Matsoele signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in two (2) Work Rider races. Suspension dates: 15 September 2022 and 22 September 2022. g) SKYFULL (+J Gwingwizha), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Mavuka, acting on behalf of Trainer F Bronkhorst, was advised (AH). WORK RIDER CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CELTIC BABE raced without blinkers (declared 1 August 2022 at 10H23). b) I'M IN LOVE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 4 August 2022 at 07H50). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) DAME COLLEEN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHED: a) JANE WILSON coughing (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
