THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NAIROBI (L Mxothwa) and DREAM SCAPE (P Strydom) were stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) CHASING HEART (X Ndlovu) was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. c) BACK TO FORMENTERA (*RA Venniker) was nervous in the stalls, stood awkwardly and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow away, DREAM SCAPE (P Strydom) failed to muster speed in the early and middle stages and only responded to Jockey Strydom's urgings in the latter stages of the race. In view of this report, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) BACK TO FORMENTERA (*RA Venniker) shifted out away from the crop between the 300m and 100m. c) NAIROBI (L Mxothwa) raced green. d) KLASERIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
