THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAGICAL JAVA (W Agrella) was nervous in the stalls. b) CELTIC NIGHT (L Mxothwa) kicked the back gates. c) CALANDRA (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing two lengths. d) PRINCESS KALISI (Y Ramzan) and MISS ORANGE (K Minnie) were slow into stride. e) GOLIGHTLY (S Khathi) and GOLDEN DAH (R Khathi) bumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In a slow run race, GOLIGHTLY (S Khathi) and DUPLICITY (M van Rensburg) were difficult to settle in the early stages. b) DAME OF FLAMES (*RA Venniker) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) INTEGRITY (R Munger) was hanging in from the 300m. d) Jockey W Agrella reported that he felt something amiss with MAGICAL JAVA. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) INTEGRITY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (SP) f) SANTA THERESE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
