TRAIL COMPASS (C MAUJEAN) REFUSED TO CANTER TO THE START AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THEREAFTER, QUELLO CHE (R MUNGER) WAS SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION. THESE INCIDENTS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AURORA GREEN (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) WORLD TOUR (D De Gouveia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) QUELLO CHE (R Munger) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TRAIL COMPASS (C Maujean) proved intractable cantering to the start. This filly is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4, until she proves tractable cantering to the start on a Raceday. Trainer H E Adamson advised (DR). b) Shortly after the start, WORLD TOUR (D De Gouveia), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and AURORA GREEN (M Yeni), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped. c) In view of the performance of AURORA GREEN (M Yeni), (distance 24,75 lengths, betting 33/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey C Habib reported that IZANAMI made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MATTIAZO, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was advised. f) WAGRAM (A Fortune), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
