THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AVOONTOAST (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) ORDER OF HOPE (*K J Lihaba) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TINTAMARRE (M Yeni) over-raced in the early stages. b) Jockey C Maujean (CHARIOT OF FIRE) did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with CHARIOT OF FIRE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey C Habib (SERRANO) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with SERRANO in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey C Zackey (PEACE TREATY) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with PEACE TREATY in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning CHARIOT OF FIRE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
