Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WILLIAM THE FIRST (R Munger) jumped awkwardly outwards.
b)	LE MORNE (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
c)	GREEN FALCON (C Habib) jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, WILLIAM THE FIRST (R Munger) cast its right front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	Leaving the 250m LE MORNE (L Mxothwa) was directed outwards into clear running.
c)	RED WILLIAM (*K Strydom), which was initially hanging in, shifted both ways in the straight and had to be straightened on a number of occasions. 
d)	In view of the performance of I DID IT MY WAY (G Behr) (Betting 1/1 ; Distance 12.05), which failed to respond to Jockey G Behr's urgings in the straight and gave ground to the field in the latter stages, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey C Habib reported that GREEN FALCON took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
f)	LE MORNE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer B Crawford was advised. (JF)
