THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SALIENT POINT (*C Dicken) and WHO ARE YOU (*G Pieterse) lost one length. b) BAY OF DREAMS (S Veale) lost two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 250m, GUTEN TAG (*K Strydom) was carried out briefly by CATALEYA SUMMER (C Ngcobo) which shifted out between the 350m and the 200m. Thereafter, CATALEYA SUMMER (C Ngcobo) was hanging out. b) Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse KITTYBOYS GIRL more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey A Arries struck the horse KITTYBOYS GIRL, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. c) BERENGARIA (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Botes advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) BERENGARIA raced equipped with blinkers (advised 09.08.22/6h23). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) GUTEN TAG : Mouth injury.
