THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	JACKSON WELLS (*S Hlengwa) was stubborn to load. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	JACKSON WELLS (*S Hlengwa) raced wide throughout. 
b)	Approaching the 300m, BINGIN BEACH (T Godden) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY (J P v'd Merwe) which rolled out marginally. 
c)	Approaching the 200m, ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY (J P v'd Merwe) was steadied and switched in when awkwardly placed on the outside of DESERT ROSE (K Matsunyane) which shifted out. 
Jockey K Matsunyane appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take timeous measures to correct his mounts in future. 
d)	DAWNOFANEWDAY (K de Melo) was hanging out from the 300m and shifted out away from the crop between the 250m and 100m. 
e)	Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with DAWNOFANEWDAY in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.  
f)	Jockey K de Melo (DAWNOFANEWDAY) appeared before the Board with regard to his riding in the concluding stages. He explained to the Board that this filly was on the wrong leg, was carrying herself awkwardly and was hanging out when he was encouraging her. He further stated that she was not responding to the crop, and so he intended to ride her with the hands over the final 50m. As the winner of the Race was heading him, he instinctively reverted to using his crop shortly before the finish. This was confirmed by the video evidence and the Board noted Mr de Melo's explanation.    
g)	BINGIN BEACH (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer O Mhlamvu acting on behalf of Trainer G H van Zyl advised (NS).

a)	SIEGE OF ORLEANS raced without cheek pieces (advised 11.08.22/9h00). 
b)	JACKSON WELLS raced without cheek pieces (advised 08.08.22/14h45).
