THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LIKETHECLAPPERS (*K Strydom) was difficult and stubborn to load. Trainer D Howells was advised to re-school this colt. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Entering the final straight, ROCK FALL (K de Melo) was carried out by HOLLYWOOD STAR (J Gates) which had come to the end of its run and rolled out. Thereafter, ROCK FALL (K de Melo) was hanging in. b) LIKETHECLAPPERS (*K Strydom) ducked out for no apparent reason at the 300m. c) In the concluding stages, Jockey G Wright (DUKE OF AFRICA) accidentally dropped his left side rein which he regained after the finish. d) Apprentice C Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with VORTICITY in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) LIKETHECLAPPERS (*K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) VORTICITY was ridden by Apprentice C Dicken and this gelding raced with a compression mask (advised 14.08.22/8h20). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) VORTICITY : Nothing obvious detected. b) RAVENS SWORD : Returned post-race having spread the left hind shoe. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None
