THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PUERTO PLATA (ARG) (K de Melo), BRAZILIAN STORM (R Munger) and SKY VELOCITY (J P van der Merwe) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DESERT FOX (P Strydom), unruly in being led to the start, broke free from Jockey P Strydom, bolted and ran through the dividing running rail at the junction. DESERT FOX was brought in hand, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently scratched. b) PUERTO PLATA (ARG) (K de Melo) raced green. c) In the concluding stages, SKY VELOCITY (J P van der Merwe), which hung in from the 500m, was carried in marginally by GREENLIGHTFORGO (K Matsunyane), which shifted in away from the crop from the 150m. d) KALAHARI BLUE (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
