THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ORUS APOLLO (M van Rensburg) hung in from the 400m, proving difficult to assist. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. After taking into consideration this gelding's history of hanging in and covering unnecessary ground in races, Trainer F P Habib was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve ORUS APOLLO'S racing manners. b) BLONDE ACT (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ORUS APOLLO examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) KOOL BAIKAL (reinstatement certificate received on 10 August 2022) blowing post race.
