THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPERIAL MASTER (*P Mxoli) and GREAT AFFAIR (K Matsunyane) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice D B Geerthsen was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking THE KOP more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice D B Geerthsen signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R750.00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (13) and Apprentice D B Geerthsen's recent record with regards to this Rule and Guideline (1). b) SOUTHERN SONG (D De Gouveia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SOUTHERN SONG was ridden by Jockey D De Gouveia (declared 23 August 2022 at 08H07). b) PATON'S TEARS: Jockey R Danielson weighed out at 56kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
