THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 600m, OUR EMILY (*R Venniker) had to be steadied and switched out to avoid running onto the heels of AISLING (K Matsunyane). As a consequence of this incident, GIN AND TONIC (A Arries) was carried outwards. b) Approaching the 300m, CORNER CRUSADE (*C Dicken) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of GREEN DREAM (M Mjoka) and inside of GIN AND TONIC (A Arries) which was hanging in and switched in to obtain a clear run, off the heels of AISLING (K Matsunyane). c) At approximately the 250m, when racing in close quarters, Jockey A Arries (GIN AND TONIC) accidentally struck CORNER CRUSADE (*C Dicken) with his crop. d) GREEN DREAM (M Mjoka) was hanging out between the 200m and 150m. e) STAR CHOICE (J P v'd Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Robinson advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) HEY GORGEOUS was ridden by Apprentice S Hlengwa (claiming 4kg) (advised 24.08.22/7h39). b) GREEN DREAM raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 12.08.22/9h15). c) GIN AND TONIC raced with a compression mask (18.08.22/9h15).
