THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOING GLOBAL (*P Mxoli) and KENTALLEN BAY (M van Rensburg) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) IGNATIUS (K de Melo) and VOLTE FACE (J P van der Merwe) were slow losing one length. c) BIG FIVE (S Khumalo) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, KENTALLEN BAY (M van Rensburg) and ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD (GB) (C Habib) came together and bumped. b) Shortly after the start, GOING GLOBAL (*P Mxoli) and MR BODACIOUS (K Matsunyane) came together and bumped. c) KENTALLEN BAY (M van Rensburg) raced with an awkward head carriage around the turn, thereafter hung out badly from the 400m and shifted in away from crop in the concluding stages. When taking this gelding's history of covering unnecessary ground in races, Stable Employee F Naude was advised to take the necessary corrective measure to improve KENTALLEN BAY's racing manners. d) Approaching the 200m, ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD (GB) (C Habib) was brushed by IGNATIUS (K de Melo) which shifted out away from the crop and was corrected. e) KENTALLEN BAY (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
