THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RISKY BUSINESS (*K A Brewer) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) BACK TO BASICS (J R Syster) was slow losing one length. c) POWER RANGER (G Lerena) and QUATTRO PASSI (D De Gouveia) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIX THE MAGIC (S Khumalo) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. b) Approaching the 200m, EARL OF CARDIGAN (N Klink) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between CORVETTE CAPTAIN (K de Melo) and MIX THE MAGIC (S Khumalo). c) Apprentice K A Brewer reported that RISKY BUSINESS was coughing post race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) CORVETTE CAPTAIN (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (AH).
