THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ALYESKA (C Habib) and VIEW FROM VENUS (*K A Brewer) came together and bumped. b) STREET'S AHEAD (M Thackeray) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. c) BALLYCOTTON (R Munger) was switched in to continue its run at the 300m in anticipation of running onto the heels of RARATONGA ROSE (S Khumalo), which shifted out away from the crop. d) Jockey C Habib reported that ALYESKA changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) RARATONGA ROSE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (SM). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ALYESKA examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
