THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GAETANA (D De Gouveia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) SECOND BREATH (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) NAMAQUA BLOSSOM (C Zackey) and TREE FAIRY (C Habib) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TREE FAIRY (C Habib), after being slow away on debut, commenced to give ground to the field from the 600m. Thereafter, Jockey C Habib reported that TREE FAIRY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) SECOND BREATH (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GAETANA raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 30 August 2022 at 08H57). b) NAMAQUA BLOSSOM raced equipped with a compression mask (declared 31 August 2022 at 08H33).
