THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COUNT PABLO (*P Mxoli) jumped outwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the left-side front gate. b) ADMIRALTY ARCH (C Habib) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 150m, TWOSIDESTOASTORY (Wes Marwing) and IN CAHOOTS (*J Solomons) brushed and were further tightened for galloping room between IRONTAIL (M van Rensburg) and SILLY FELLA (G Lerena), which showed a tendency to hang in from the 350m and was switched in to continue its run on the inside of AFTER HOURS (*K A Brewer). b) In view of the performance of HUMBLE TUNE (S Khumalo), (distance 11,50 lengths, betting 4/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning COUNT PABLO, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer A G Laird was advised. d) IRONTAIL (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) HUMBLE TUNE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) COUNT PABLO coughing; bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension.
