THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	DARK TIDE (S Khumalo) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b)	FUNKY MUSIC (P Strydom) and PROSPER'S GIFT (N Klink) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
c)	WHO'S THAT STAR (C Habib) was slow losing one length.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	DARK TIDE (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
b)	Jockey M Thackeray, the rider of DESERT CRUSADER, briefly dropped his right-side rein at the 300m.
c)	Jockey	C Habib reported that WHO'S THAT STAR changed stride continually in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
d)	Apprentice P Mxoli reported that GAL GADOT changed stride continually in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. 		
e)	Jockey N Klink was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking PROSPER'S GIFT more than twelve times in the entire race.  Jockey N Klink signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 750.00 was imposed. 
When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (13) and Jockey N Klink's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline (1).  
Furthermore, Jockey N Klink was advised against the practice of looking around during races. 	
f)	NEVER TO CLEVER (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Verdonese advised (RS).

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	BEVOETERD was ridden by Jockey J Penny (declared 6 September 2022 at 14H14).		
	Jockey J Greyling was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse BEVOETERD, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer C Spies.  Jockey J Greyling signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1,000.00.   	
b)	FUNKY MUSIC: Jockey P Strydom weighed out at 58,7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a)	BEVOETERD raced equipped with a compression mask	(declared 31 August 2022 at 12H37).	
b)	WHO'S THAT STAR raced equipped with alumites in front, unshod behind (declared 31 August 2022 at 14H10) and without blinkers (declared 6 September 2022 at 08H07).		
c)	CLARKSON raced equipped with blinkers (declared 5 September 2022 at 08H54).
