THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FLAME FLOWER (*R Venniker) hung in from the 200m. b) Apprentice J Solomons reported that LET THERE BE LIGHT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking BALLROOM BLISS more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 4,000.00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (14) and Jockey S Khumalo's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline (5). Furthermore, Jockey S Khumalo was advised that a sixth transgression of this Rule and Guideline within the preceding 60-day period, may result in him being suspended. d) TERRA TIME (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) TERRA TIME raced equipped with a compression mask (declared 1 September 2022 at 11H50). b) LINGANOMORE raced equipped with a compression mask (declared 7 September 2022 at 08H08).
