THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS LOUISA (O Noach) jumped outwards and made heavy contact with FALLO ANCORA (C Zackey). b) MEDLERS TART (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 1000m HAPPY CHANCE (L Mxothwa) stumbled after clipping the heels of LOVE RULES (R Fourie). As a consequence, FIELDS OF GREEN (C Habib), which was following, had to be steadied. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. b) Leaving the 700m LADY OF GOLD (M Yeni) had to be momentarily steadied when racing tight between TURKISH KELIM (S Khumalo) and HAPPY CHANCE (L Mxothwa). c) Jockey K de Melo reported that DREAMT I COULD FLY did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey S Khumalo reported that TURKISH KELIM felt uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding in the straight. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) HAPPY CHANCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
