THE STARTER REPORTED A) MYSTERY TRIP was withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. B) OUR WORLD and WINTER PRINCESS were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) TEMPLE BAR (L Mxothwa) over-raced in the early stages. B) Jockey G Cheyne reported that MAKE IT HAPPEN did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Leaving the 200m, GRACE LIGHTNING (*K Strydom) shifted out marginally into a tight gap on the outside of TEMPLE BAR (L Mxothwa) became unbalanced when brushed retiring A FOREIGN AFFAIR (M Yeni) which bumps JUNGLE PROMISE (W Kennedy) outwards onto the heels of OUR WORLD (S Khumalo) which was hanging in and shifted in slightly. As a result of this, JUNGLE PROMISE clipped the heels of OUR WORLD. As a consequence, JUNGLE PROMISE stumbled unseating Jockey W Kennedy. D) After the running of this race, Jockey W Kennedy was stood down by the Course Medical Officer standard proportion. Rule 25.12 does not apply. E) The winner OUR WORLD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). F) The second placed horse GRACE LIGHTNING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer Z Oosthuizen advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) GRACE LIGHTNING raced equipped with a compression mask (08:43 - 02/01/2021). B) SILVER SLIPPERS raced equipped with a compression mask and without blinkers (07:19 - 02/01/2022).
