THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CATCH THE CAT (C Habib) jumped outwards.
b)	RIGHT CHOICE (S Khumalo) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Approaching the 200m SAVANNAH WINTER (R Fourie) was carried in marginally by ANGEL DEB'S (*J Solomons), which rolled in under pressure.
b) 	In view of the performance of SULTANAH (W Agrella) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
c)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with AFTERNOON TEA. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
d)	Jockey W Agrella, the rider of SULTANAH, appeared before the Board and was advised that his riding of this mare, particularly in the second half of the race, had come under the notice of the Stewards. He explained that he had tested the mare in the early and middle stages. However, he had felt her to be one paced and that she was not able to sustain a finish. Consequently, he had allowed her to dictate her own pace over the closing stages. The Stewards advised Mr Agrella that this report would be recorded, However, he is required to ride his mounts with at least his hands and heels unless he is concerned for his mount's wellbeing and he would be required to report such, after the race to negate the Stewards line of questioning in this particular case.
e)	STOLEN KISS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM)
f)	ANGEL DEB'S, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised. (LM)
