Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start HAMMIES HERO (G Wright) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between SILVANO'S DASHER (K de Melo) and ALL ABOUT AL (C Zackey), both of which shifted ground marginally leaving the stalls. b) LINE OF DUTY (C Habib) was unable to secure clear running between the 350m and 250m. c) At the 200m YELLOWPORSCHEROAD (S Khumalo), which commenced to give ground to the field quickly, was carried in and had to be steadied momentarily on the inside of ITSRAININGWILLIAM (S Mbhele) which shifted in away from the crop. As a consequence, LINE OF DUTY (C Habib) which was following, had to be steadied and directed outwards away from the heels of YELLOWPORSCHEROAD (S Khumalo). Jockey S Mbhele (ITSRAININGWILLIAM) appeared before the Board and was strongly advised to react sooner when his mounts require straightening in similar circumstances. d) The saddle on LINE OF DUTY (C Habib) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the veterinary surgeon. e) SILVANO'S DASHER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Donnelly, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised.
