THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCY THE PINK (C Bantam) jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m OPEN SECRET (C Habib) rolled in away from CRACKLIN' ROSE (C Zackey) and had to be steadied away from the heels of BETTY BOOP (K de Melo). b) Approaching the 50m DOUBLE DREAM (S Khumalo) was brushed outwards by GOLD POKER GAME (G Wright), which rolled out and was immediately straightened. c) Jockey C Bantam reported that LUCY THE PINK felt uncomfortable in its action. The veterinary surgeon ws requested to examine this d) Jockey C Habib reported that OPEN SECRET changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this e) BETTY BOOP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
