THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	ONE SHOT WONDER (S Moodley) lost two lengths. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	QUIZ MASTER (S Veale) raced wide in the early stages. 
b)	CRESTED EAGLE (*R Venniker) and WHITE CEDAR (*M Katjedi) came together and brushed on two occasions in the concluding stages. 
c)	At the 100m, COUNT MARSH (K de Melo) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of CRESTED EAGLE (*R Venniker) which shifted out away from the crop from the 150m. 
Apprentice R Venniker signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of CRESTED EAGLE, she failed to ensure that she did not cause interference to the horse COUNT MARSH (K de Melo) at the 100m.  Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension dates to be advised)
d)	Apprentice D Geerthsen reported that GLOBAL SECRET took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	Jockey K Matsunyane reported that HIGHER PURPOSE did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
f)	In view of the performance of GET CARTER (C Habib) (13.45 lengths, 25/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
g)	Trainer D Campbell was questioned with regard to the improved performance of CRESTED EAGLE (*R Venniker), the winner, compared to this gelding's previous performance on the 31 August 2022. Mr Campbell stated that in his opinion, the removal of the blinkers for today's run had attributed to the improvement shown. He further advised the Board that CRESTED EAGLE will be equipped in a similar manner in its near future engagements. The Board noted his explanation.  
h)	CRESTED EAGLE (*R Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G Rich acting on behalf of Trainer D Campbell advised (NS).
