THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IKIGAI (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) QUANTUM KING (J P van der Merwe) raced wide around the turn and into the straight and thereafter commenced to hang out from the 500m. b) BON VIVANT (K de Melo) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 250m. c) Jockey C Habib (IKIGAI) was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 in that he weighed back in in excess of 1kg over the weight at which he was declared out. Jockey Habib signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) BOHICA (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (LN). e) BON VIVANT (K de Melo), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (MdP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BON VIVANT Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 53,2kg, 1,5kg over the carded weight of which 1kg was declared. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
