THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NATIVE TONGUE (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls. b) MARMARA SEA (*R Venniker), CRIMSON KING (JP van der Merwe) and YOU KNOW WHO (S Khumalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Between the 200m and the 150m GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (R Fourie) and NEVER ENDING RAIN (C Habib) raced tight. b) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with CRIMSON KING and he did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) MOUNT ANDERSON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
