Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	CUP OF MAGIC (S Moodley) kicked the back gates. This gelding was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. 
b)	PIRATE PRINCE (*R Venniker) was restless in the stalls and jumped inwards sharply. As a consequence, this gelding lost ground to the field. 
c)	BLITZEN (J Gates) and SET TO SHINE (A Mgudlwa) were slow losing one length. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start, SOUL CAPTAIN (M Yeni) and ROY'S BOLT (*M Zuma) were carried out by DIRECT CHARGE (*D Geerthsen) which jumped out leaving the starting stalls. As a result, BLITZEN (J Gates) was squeezed out. 
b)	ROY'S BOLT (*M Zuma) over-raced in the early and middle stages. 
c)	EL REY VIENE (K de Melo) was hanging out badly shortly before entering the final straight. Thereafter, this colt shifted in away from the crop between the 400m and the 300m. 
d)	SOUL CAPTAIN (M Yeni) was hanging out throughout. In view of this colt's performance (14.90 lengths, 11/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with ONE MAN'S ARMY in the running and as a result did not persevere with his ride over the final 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
f)	EL REY VIENE (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (DZ).

a)	EL REY VIENE was ridden by Jockey K de Melo (advised 24.09.22/9h33). 
b)	ROY'S BOLT raced equipped with blinkers (advised 24.09.22/2h46).
