THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	EBONY BAY (J P v'd Merwe) raced green and was wide around the turn. 
b)	MENELAUS (*G Pieterse) was hanging in from the 400m. 
c)	From a wide draw, Jockey S Moodley elected to drop RED MAGICIAN out to the rear of the field. This resulted in this gelding losing ground to the rest of the runners. 
d)	In view of the performance of LAZY GUY (C Habib) (7.05 lengths, 2/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
