THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GIMME'S LADDIE (K de Melo) jumped slow, losing one length.
b)	GARAMOND (C Orffer) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	COSMIC EVENT (*J Solomons) and RAFIKI (G van Niekerk) over raced in the early stages.
b)	Jockey G Wright (DONDER STORM) dropped his crop approaching the 200m.
c)	Between the 200m and the 50m GIMME'S LADDIE (K de Melo) raced restricted galloping room between the inside running rail and GLOBAL SPEED (S Cele).
d) 	In view of the performance of GARAMOND (C Orffer), which raced wide around the bend and into the straight and gave ground to the field from the 300m, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	The Clerk of Scales was unable to capture the weight at which Jockey's returned to the scale electronically. The Jockeys were weighed in manually in the presence of a Stipendiary Steward. This has been reported to the duty manager.
f)	MAX THE OTTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (TJ)
