Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TIGER SPRING (A Mgudlwa) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) OCTOBER SUN (M Yeni) over-raced in the early stages. In view of the performance of this gelding (10.65 lengths, 18/10 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer N Kotzen will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. b) MIRACULOUS MAN (T Godden) raced green. c) LORD EDWARD (K Sakayi) raced with its bit pulled through its mouth which resulted in this gelding racing wide around the turn. As a consequence of this, Jockey K Sakayi was unable to fully assist his mount to the end of the race. Trainer M Roberts will be advised to take the necessary remedial measures to prevent a recurrence of this nature in future. d) Leaving the 150m, Apprentice M Katjedi (EASY ROY EASY) briefly dropped his right-side rein. e) FLEET COMMANDER (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
