THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLIND FAITH (JP van der Merwe) was restless in the stalls. b) ANNE KARENINA (G Wright) jumped inwards, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. c) ELECTRIC FEELS (G Behr) jumped inwards and made contact with BY MIDNIGHT (M Yeni) which carried SOCIAL DISTANCE (S Cele) inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) For a short distance approaching the 1000m ELECTRIC FEELS (G Behr) raced in restricted galloping room between ALLENDE (L Mxothwa) and AMETHYSTIC (O Noach). b) BY MIDNIGHT (M Yeni) raced awkwardly on the bend. c) YGRITTE (C Zackey) raced wide on the bend until passing the 800m. d) Approaching the 400m, while improving into restricted galloping room between the inside running rail and YGRITTE (C Zackey), SAY YES (R Fourie) and EVERLASTING (G van Niekerk) brushed, resulting in EVERLASTING (G van Niekerk) rolling out and making contact with YGRITTE (C Zackey), which in turn brushed ELECTRIC FEELS (G Behr). e) WAYWARD GIRL (C Habib) shifted in away from the crop in the latter stages. f) ANNA KARENINA (G Wright) raced green. g) In view of the performance of CHIQUITA BANANA (C Orffer) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) SAY YES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
