THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FORT ALADO (S Brown) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. 
b)	LESHAWES (R Munger) was slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	As the start was effected, FORT ALADO (S Brown) which jumped outwards and TUULETAR (W Kennedy) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped.
b)	At approximately the 1200m, ABSOLUTE VALUE (*K A Brewer) had to steady momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of FLAG BEARER (J Gates).
c)	Jockey M Khan reported that FORWARD SPELL choked up in running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
d)	Apprentice D B Geerthsen reported that he felt something amiss with ZAVIAH in running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey J Gates reported that FLAG BEARER coughed in running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	In view of the performance of TUULETAR (W Kennedy), (betting 5/2, distance 7,50 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	Assistant Trainer A Peter was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables.
g)	LESHAWES (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer H E Adamson advised (DR).
h)	MY TRUE NORTH (G Lerena), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer P P Vermeulen advised (MdP).
