THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) Fair start.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) Jockey T Godden (RED SOLE) and Apprentice R Venniker (CRESTED EAGLE) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning RED SOLE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D Drier will be advised. (Suspension Dates : 10 October 22 - 06 February 23, bdi)
c) When questioned regarding the improved performance of IRON WILL (K de Melo) compared to this gelding's previous performances, Trainer A Wright explained that she opted for this gelding to return to the turf track after 3 disappointing runs on the polytrack. Mrs A Wright further explained that, in the poor performance on the 19 September 22, IRON WILL was caught deep for the majority of the race and this, in her opinion, had attributed to the poor performance of the gelding. The Board noted this explanation and Trainer A Wright's attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running.
d) IRON WILL (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (DZ).
