THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JAQUAR CAT (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading. b) GAUL RULER (R Munger) jumped outwards and made contact with VERIFIED (JP van der Merwe). c) HONEST QUEST (S Khathi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STAY THE COURSE (M Mjoka) pulled hard in the early and middle stages and shifted out away from the crop in the latter stages. b) Leaving the 300m ABSOLU NOIR (T Gould) was shifted out to obtain clear running. c) In view of the performance of SURYAVARMAN (L Mxothwa) (Betting 7/2 ; Distance 5.50) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) ABSOLU NOIR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Kaknis was advised.
