THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIR TALLIN (J P van der Merwe) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIRREN (P Strydom) raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight. b) Jockey J P van der Merwe, the rider of SIR TALLIN, did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that SIR TALLIN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey P Strydom reported that MIRREN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Jockey C Habib reported that FLAG BEARER changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) CAPE BOUQUET (N Klink), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Webber advised (RS).
