THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WOLFFS WORLD (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) DUKE OF RAIN (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DUKE OF RAIN (C Zackey) become unbalanced after making contact with the inside running rail at approximately the 1350m. As this was the second incident of a similar nature at the same distance, the 4Racing Duty Manager was requested to inspect this area of concern, b) BRENDEN JAMES (K Matsunyane) and WOLFFS WORLD (P Strydom) rolled in from the 300m to the 150m. c) SOUTHERN BLAZE (*P Mxoli) was switched out to obtain a clear run at the 250m. d) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with ABLAAN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of ABLAAN on return to stables e) WOLFFS WORLD (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H E Adamson advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) WOLFFS WORLD raced with a tongue tie on (declared 10 October 2022 at 09H19). b) EAGLE ALLEY raced equipped with blinkers and raced with a tongue tie on (declared 12 October 2022 at 09H50). c) DUKE OF RAIN raced equipped with blinkers (declared 13 October 2022 at 07H56). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ABLAAN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) EAGLE ALLEY fatigued.
