THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, AGA HEAT (M Yeni) broke open the front gate, which was reset. b) UNITED EXPRESS (R Danielson) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice S Sosibo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse KWAZZI'S LADY out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice S Sosibo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1,000.00. b) Apprentice P Mxoli was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking MEET THE CAPTAIN more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice P Mxoli signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,000.00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (13) and P Mxoli's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline (2). c) KISS TO DREAM (N Klink) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m, Thereafter, Jockey N Klink reported that KISS TO DREAM took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) ROSENWIND (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A B Fortune advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MOONSTRIKE was ridden by Apprentice K A Brewer (declared 11 October 2022 at 09H38). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MEET THE CAPTAIN raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 10 October 2022 at 11H12). b) MOONSTRIKE raced with club colours (black with a blue cap). Trainer P F Matchett was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he did not have available the registered colours of the owners of the horse MOONSTRIKE. Trainer P F Matchett signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R500.00 was imposed. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) KISS TO DREAM examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) KWAZZI'S LADY coughing post race. c) UNITED EXPRESS abnormal respiratory noise and blowing post race.
