THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KUZNETSOV (M Mjoka) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) MASTER VISION (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length. c) AMELL (*KA Brewer) and ALMAS TOWER (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In a slow-run race AMELL (*KA Brewer), KUZNETSOV (M Mjoka) and KAPUZINER (M Yeni) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. b) Approaching the 1100m, AMELL (*KA Brewer) raced onto the heels of KAPUZINER (M Yeni), was shifted out and allowed to race around runners and into a forward position. c) In view of the performance of WAITING FOR SUMMER (R Munger) (Betting 63/100; Distance 6.55 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) SLINGS AND ARROWS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
