Stipes Report

THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE.

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	NIGHT BOMBER (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b)	BIOFARMER (M Yeni) and MAX THE MAGICIAN (R Fourie) were slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly before the finish line, PASSAGE OF POWER (R A Venniker), which hung out from the 200m, and SILVER TUDOR (S Moodley), which shifted in away from the crop came together and bumped. 
b)	Jockey R Fourie appeared before the Stewards' and was questioned regarding his riding on MAX THE MAGICIAN in the closing stages. He said that this gelding had shown him that it would not have improved in the latter stages of the race and was racing over a distance which was short of its best. He was advised that even though he had not prevented this gelding from obtaining a placing, he was still required to ride his mounts with at least hands and heels to the finish. 
c)	In view of the performance of JUST BE LEKKER (S Khumalo), (distance 7,80 lengths, betting 25/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.	
d)	Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES  in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
e)	CYMRIC (A Domeyer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	MAX THE MAGICIAN was ridden by Jockey R Fourie (declared 26 February 2025 at 10H15).	
b)	BOB'S YOUR UNCLE : Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54,7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
c)	TCHAIKOVSKY: Jockey K A Brewer weighed out at 51,4kg, 1kg over the carded weight.
Jockey K A Brewer was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on TCHAIKOVSKY (Race 4) and TRIED AND TRUE (Race 5), or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer J S Roux and Trainer R Klaasen. Jockey K A Brewer signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1500.
