a) 	Shortly after the start, MOONSHININGTHROUGH (G Lerena), which commenced to over-race, had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of MOVER AND SHAKER (M Yeni), which rolled in. Thereafter, MOONSHININGTHROUGH (G Lerena) hung in significantly from the 200m. 
b)	MOONSHININGTHROUGH (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (LN).
