THE STARTER REPORTED: a) USHUAIA (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. b) CANE LIME 'N SODA (S Khumalo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ROYAL SHINDIG (M Yeni), which over raced in the early stages, brushed the inside running rail and took an awkward stride at the 1700m. Thereafter ROYAL SHINDIG (M Yeni) continued to over race and tired quickly in the straight. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) JASPERO (JP van der Merwe) was hanging in in the straight and had to be straightened approaching the 200m. c) Jockey W Agrella reported that HOMER FIDGET did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) ALMIGHWAAR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee G Venter, acting on behalf of Trainer TJ Laing, was advised.
