THE STARTER REPORTED: a) YGRITTE (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. b) COLOUR ME QUICK (JP van der Merwe), JAZZ DIVA (G van Niekerk), SAARTJIE (S Mbhele) and TURKISH KELIM (G Wright) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey J Jacobs reported that ROX ON FIRE changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey C Orffer reported that PRINCESS LOUISA did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey S Cele appeared before the Board and was advised that while the Stewards accepted that FUTURE CONTRACT was out of contention for a place, he still has an obligation to ride his mounts, at least hands and heels, to the finish. d) RED SASH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
