THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ORGETORIX (S Khumalo) and THORNTON CREEK (D Schwarz) were slow into stride.
b)	BLACK BURNER (J Gates) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c)	ASPIRINGTOREIGN (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	Shortly after the start, BACK TO BASICS (N Klink) was squeezed between MACTAVISH (C Maujean) who was carried in by BLACK BURNER (J Gates) which jumped inwards and THORNTON CREEK (D Schwarz) who was carried out by ORGETORIX (S Khumalo) which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b)	BACK TO BASICS (N Klink) hung out from the 200m.
c)	At approximately the 150m, ABAYYAAN (K Matsunyane) was bumped inwards by MACTAVISH (C Maujean) which commenced to hang in from the 400m.
d)	Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with COMING IN HOT in running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e)	In view of the performance of ABAYYAAN (K Matsunyane), (betting 3/1, distance 6,75 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	BACK TO BASICS (N Klink), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer B Webber advised (AH).
