Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	ANGRY WARRIOR (N Klink) stumbled leaving the stalls. 
b)	ASTROCYTE (M Khan) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) 	ASTROCYTE (M Khan) proved reluctant proceeding to the start and had to be led. 
	Trainer B B Ruiters was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended.  
b)	ASTROCYTE (M Khan) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls, failed to muster early speed, proved difficult negotiating the turn, resulting in this gelding racing detached, wide around the turn and into the straight. Thereafter, ASTROCYTE (M Khan) compounded from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
c)	ICE MAN COMETH (R Munger) hung in from the 500m.
d)	SPIN DOCTOR (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. 
Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (LN).
e)	LITTLE PRINCE (*G Pieterse), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. 
Trainer F P Habib advised (LK).

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	SPIN DOCTOR was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (declared 27 October 2022 at 11H07).		
b)	HOUSTON: Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 54,4kg, 1kg over the carded weight.  
Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse HOUSTON, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Jockey K de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1,000.

RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a)	ANGRY WARRIOR raced with a cornell collar (declared 18 October 2022).
