THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	STONE COLD (JP van der Merwe) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls.
b)	LEGITIMATE (M Mjoka), BOLD RESOLVE (R Fourie), T'CHALLA (C Maujean) and MR FITZ (G Lerena) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a) 	Approaching the 1200m T'CHALLA (C Maujean) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of BOLD RESOLVE (R Fourie) and KEEP IT SECRET (M Yeni). 
b)	Leaving the 200m LEGITIMATE (M Mjoka) shifted out under pressure and had to be straightened.
c)	In view of the performance of ADIOS AMIGOS (G Wright), which was hanging in in the straight, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	In view of the performance of T'CHALLA (C Maujean) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey G Lerena reported that MR FITZ made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	FERRARI ICE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
